Prior to coming to US for higher studies I worked as User Experience Designer for Cap-Gemini (former Kanbay Financial). Here I was designing for diverse sectors such as banks, media and finance.

Education
I have a Masters in Human Computer Interaction from College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology. During this phase of academics I got a chance to study as well as work for various colleges and research groups at GA Tech. Some of them are GVU, College of Interactive Computing, Brodband Institute, IMAGINE lab, Open Source Sakai for CETL. I did my Masters Project as CrowdCasting which in simplest of definition is crowd sourced mobile broadcasting.

In 2006 I graduated with a Bachelors in Industrial Design, Department of Design, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Here I was actively associated with HCI and usability lab, ergonomics lab, product-design center.

I believe
…that design process with its constant focus on users can provide the missing edge to the business. What I mean by missing edge is that most companies don’t understand its users. I certainly don’t imply that businesses don’t want to or they don’t try to, but the archaic processes they employ are ineffective. The examples of consumer and customer obsession is rarely seen from the likes of Apple, Amazon, Google but users by large still face bad experiences & products and thus frustration most of the times.

In my future, I see Design led product development and product innovation as the de-facto standard for all businesses and I am very enthused about this.

To quote Thomas Watson of IBM

Good design is good business.
